..or is it just cause the Uber is being played through a bigger cabinet I presume, and the MKIV is being played through a 1x12 combo speaker??

I've never played a MKIV.
The Uberschall is one of the best amps I've ever played.
No question the Uber sounds epic.
I find it hard to believe the MKiv sounds that bad though.
I don't even listen to a clip if I see some butt rock frat boy playing an Ibanez! LOL
It depends on what it's smoking.Who the hell would want an amp that smokes ???

I facepalm your facepalm. We dont know if he's palying through the 2x12 old Peavey Cabinet- sure looks like it. I doubt one speaker would make a huge difference, especially since those old Peaveys are junk. There have been several responses here not mentioning the cabinet as the primary concern, especially since the Mesa speaker is a damn good Blck Shadow you would have to presume, or even a EV12l, so even if the Uber is hooked up to the newer Peavey 4x12, your expecting everyone to go assuming it would make some ungodly difference accounting for the much better sound.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
I'dy like to know about this, since I'm shooting for possibly a Xstacy or a MKiv or earlier Boogie.
The Uber sounds like it's being played through a closed back 4x12.
The Mark IV sounds like it's being played through an open back 1x12 loaded with an MC90.
The Mark IV in the clip sounds more or less like every Mark combo amp does... heavy in the mids, light on the bass and open in it's response. More blues/rock than metal. Put that amp through a closed back 4x12 and it becomes a totally different monster.
well, its sitting on top of the old Peavey with the eminence squarebacks, and a peavey head is on top of the Peavey 4x12 Blue marvel cabinet, so Im, gonan go with the Bogner is being played through the old peavey 2x12.
At any rate, i bet your right about the Mesa, which is good to know. maybe I should focus on a head, as Ive got so many 4x12 cabinets .
I seriously expected the Mesa to sound better, 1x12 open back notwithstanding. maybe the crummy mic used on that clip didnt pickup up enough bass on the Mesa from that clip?
But maybe , as was mentioned, it needed to be dialed in for a bassier sound?
