Hey, Peavey 5150 guys!

As you may or may not know, I'm a single-coil geek. Love the tone. Before today, I'd been plugging directly into my JJ loaded 5150 on the low gain input. The single-coil tone there was less than stellar HOWEVER, today, I plugged the mother into high gain and...BOOOM! The tone of all tone (to my ears )! It seemed to breathe so much life into my vintage single-coils (high-output pups sound like crap through a 5150, in my opinion). This is the lead sound of Biu, I've found it at last! One-trick pony indeed, but paired up with my Bassman (whence I pick it up)/Carvin+Boss ME-50, I don't think my ears could ask for more

Have you guys with 5150's experienced this tonal bliss?

Why in the world were you plugging into the Low Gain??? Go for the most!

I've owned my 5150 Combo for 5 years now, and I've tweaked many different tones out of it. With the right guitar and enough tweaking you'll find the 5150 Combo is more than a 'one trick pony.' Glad your enjoying it!

Haha, yeah, I should've known! :smack:
I'm just really surprised at how much the EQ affects the tonality of the amp; moreso than other amps I've had the pleasure of tweaking at least
