Hey, Peavey 5150 guys!

As you may or may not know, I'm a single-coil geek. Love the tone. Before today, I'd been plugging directly into my JJ loaded 5150 on the low gain input. The single-coil tone there was less than stellar :( HOWEVER, today, I plugged the mother into high gain and...BOOOM! The tone of all tone (to my ears :) )! It seemed to breathe so much life into my vintage single-coils (high-output pups sound like crap through a 5150, in my opinion). This is the lead sound of Biu, I've found it at last! One-trick pony indeed, but paired up with my Bassman (whence I pick it up)/Carvin+Boss ME-50, I don't think my ears could ask for more :)

Have you guys with 5150's experienced this tonal bliss?

Why in the world were you plugging into the Low Gain??? Go for the most!

I've owned my 5150 Combo for 5 years now, and I've tweaked many different tones out of it. With the right guitar and enough tweaking you'll find the 5150 Combo is more than a 'one trick pony.' Glad your enjoying it!

Haha, yeah, I should've known! :smack:
I'm just really surprised at how much the EQ affects the tonality of the amp; moreso than other amps I've had the pleasure of tweaking at least :)
