hi, i am currently looking for a new amp for round about £300, it must be loud enough for playing with my heavy metal band and also be good for home practice. i would prefer the amp to have 2 12" speakers but other suggestions are ok, like a 1 12" speaker fro example. I own a boss metal zone distortion pedal and personally i like the way it sounds so if distortion is a problem with an amp i could use my pedal. i recently played a marshall mg100dfx through the clean channel with my metal zone pedal and the volume of the marshall mg's clean channel just wasn't good enough, i played it in a band practice situation and the other guitarists line 6 spider 2 210 just blew it away for volume, i liked the sound i got through the marshall but volume just wasn't good enough. can anyone please suggest an amp preferably with 2 12" speakers and PLENTY of volume, also a good clean channel is important. headphone socket and line out would also be great.

any suggestion would be great thanx

by the way i play through a seymour duncan sh-5 custom if that helps at all

hmm this is unknown territory for me, im the classic tube amp guy, and you seem to be flexible with tubes or transistors...under 300 pounds is like 400 bucks right? There's gotta be a loud crate or something that covers that territory. You can take a look at the Fender hotrod series, or the FM ones (SS but super loud!!!!). You could grab a good fender solid state FM series for no more than 400 dollars i think.

£300 is currently like $575 - $590, but do remember prices over here are much higher so yeah it works out to be the equivalent of $400. Sorry i have no ideas at moment!
