High or low? Setting my Blues trembucker

Ok, after years of tossing around the idea, I went for it got one. And OH MY IM SURE GLAD!!!
Thing is, Im not sure how high to set it. I have found 2 sweet spots. Very low has a sweet spot that has great tone, harmonics and a somewhat airy vibe. High, has a spot that has tone, harmonics out the .... um.... speakers.. yeah, speakers, and a kick in the groin hit...
For you gigging guys, what works for you a concert levels? High gives more feedback under massive gain but no more than my C5 axes. Im in a small room and cant step away from the amp.
Thanks!!

You're in luck. We're in the same town. Bring it over.
Shouldn't take me more than a week or so to figure it out. :laugh2:

Nice score. We've got to hook up some time. I wanna hear that pup.

Re: High or low? Setting my Blues trembucker

Tho I have deep gratitude for your kindly offering to assist, I ll have to decline.. hahaha
I want to get new pots for the guit and redo that before Id want to debut it. Doesnt have much playing time but the stock neck pup volume pot no longer works. At least it is stuck wide open and not off.
We will have to arrange a meet some time.. May be a month or so away as Im currently working 2 jobs and trying to go to school. Matter of fact, Thurs night Im waiting tables for a NFL owners party. Should be interesting..not sure how Im getting downtown with the bridges closing..

Re: High or low? Setting my Blues trembucker

I had mine in a Wolfgang with direct-mounted pickups, but it sounded great at that height. Here are the measurements I have, measuring from the top of the bottom coil bobbin to the bottom of the low and high E strings:

low E - 5/32nds
high E - 7/64ths

I took those with an ultra-precise Stew-Mac setup ruler, so they should be pretty accurate. There may be some setup differences, but these numbers should get you in the ballpark. It is a great pickup, it's my favorite in the Duncan lineup.
