Higher Wattage Greenbacks?

Re: Higher Wattage Greenbacks?

Celestion Classic Lead 80's - is that an 80 watt speaker? and how do they hold up for heavy hi gain stuff?

yeah, and they work great with gain. A little spikey on top when i tried em but i'm sure that goes away with break in

also not a huge low end on them, it's definately a 'lead' speaker

Jeff, I've got Heavy mag 1265s in my 4x12. 2 have the 75Hz cones, 2 hav 55Hz cones. I use it with my Seal modded 2204. Most will say the 65s have a greenback type of character but hold together better with gain.

Re: Higher Wattage Greenbacks?

Finally talked to my friend. Turns out I had it wrong: it's not celestion that's developing the speaker but Eminence. Sounds cool though: what they're attempting to do is make a double-wattage greenback clone, for Splawn amps, I believe...

"a double-wattage greenback clone"

Sounds perfect for a guy like me!
