Has anyone tried these ??

I see they're on some new Tylers, but can't find a dealer or anyone else who uses them.

I'm not a huge fan of Spertzels, I don't find them very smooth in rotation, so want a quality alternative.

Thanks

Re: Hipshot locking tuners

if i use locking tuners then i always go with schallers. if i use non-locking tuners then i always go with schallers, lol. hip-shot make a quality product though so i prob wouldnt hesitate to try them if i couldnt get any schallers

Re: Hipshot locking tuners

I've never tried the Schallers but I'm told by friends that the thumb wheel can actually fall off if you're not careful a one even lost a wheel on stage and couldn't use the guitar.

What about the new Planet Waves although the Hipshot ones do look good.

They sure are cheap, I will no doubt try a set at some point.

Re: Hipshot locking tuners

It won't fall off by itself. Only if you over-loosen it. Same thing with Sperzels. My Grover Set does not have thumb-wheels but trust me when I say avoid these at all costs. They are a bigger hassle than non-locking tuners. Only reason I have those is they cam stock on one of my guitars.
