I had a Hiwatt DR103 a little while back....... i really liked it, but for one, it was sickeningly loud, and i was running it through a marshall 1960A cab, which gave the sound kind of a harsh overdrive tone...... very cool amp either way, very huge sounding

They are loud eh!!!! Dam loud! Anyway i have heard from many other Hiwatt users say that the Hiwatt Cabs with the Fane speakers are a huge part of that Hiwatt sound! I know 2-3 guys who will tell you that their Hiwatt heads do not sound as good unless they are into the Hiwatt cabs with Fanes..

I love the sound of Hiwatts! That huge bottom end that they have and the mild overdrive makes for such a huge sound.... but it is too loud unless you gig in larger places..
