Hmm. . . What do you think of this?

They may buy parts in bulk like Guitarfetish does. Some may have blemishes or have come from scrapped instruments that failed QC. While it may be tempting to think parts are standardized and interchangeable they aren't if they are from different manufacturers.
 
Reclaimed parts from Mighty Mite can produce a decent guitar. I am remembering George Lynch's original Tiger Stripe Stratocaster was built from a bunch of parts he found in boxes back on the shelves at Mighty Mite.

They state right on the website that they have partnered with MIRC, so these are mfr overstock, b-stock, and refurb/warranty instrument pulls.

Interestingly, it looks like they bought Franklin Guitar Works' parts inventory as now Franklin seems to be focused on selling complete guitars only, at least on their website.
