Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

PS412

New member
As posted elsewhere around here 8 weeks became 6 months. ( thanks for the input everyone).
Reindeer Blue, set through 3 piece maple neck, 25.5" scale, ebony board, 42 mm nut, 305mm radius, thin u, 24 jumbo s.s frets, mahogany body, maple top, Floyd original, Gotoh locking tuners, Schaller strap lock, EMG 89r neck 89 bridge. P/P on volume and tone.

Came set up awesome, no need to do a thing to it, well different strings sometime.
Flawless.
The fret work is amazing, the finish is fantastic, all hardware is solid. Just a well built machine.
I use nylon straps because they don't grab my shirt, this guitar stays right where you put it, meaning well balanced, no and I mean no neck dive.
I plugged into a 6505 and a 412 and let loose in the store. What a nice sounding guitar. I generally like passive more than active but these 89's are quite nice.
As far as this guitar goes, it's a hard, metal, rock oriented unit and it does it very well. Playing through an amp not overly praised for it's clean, the frx I think will handle quieter cleaner music very easily as well. Maybe one day I'll find out. Maybe.
The neck, the whole guitar, just feels good. In fact, maybe it's the newness and the finally it's here thing, but this guitar encourages me to play like an idiot. And I mean that in the best possible way.
Well built machine.
The best I could do for pictures.20190326_203819.jpg

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

Congrats!! Love that color! Id love to play one of those sometime. Never played anything above an LTD

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

I love that shape and the ample clearance outside the E strings. I need a real ESP, never had one.

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

Very nice!
Those 89's are more or less a splitable 85 which has an A5 magnet and should be pretty versatile because an 85/85 can do a lot of things.

I have played a couple of Ltd models and think they are good solid guitars. This though just, I don't know, "feels" better/easier to play.
Always the old argument though, is it that much better dollar per dollar.

Very unique, and I love blue guitars. I am happy this was resolved. Not ideal, but you ended up with a great guitar. Now start saving for that Epi.

I never really gave esp too much thought. Based off this model, I'll look at them with much more lust from here on out.

No, not the best situation. Had to channel my inner Yoda a couple of times.
Once a business man always a buisness man. The store owner tried to sell me the Epi and the 6505 in a package as well last night. Instant gratification was his best line. Good for a chuckle.
We're both happy now.

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

Very cool. Glad to see this worked out in the end. ESP makes killer instruments. I've played a few but never owned one. Always wanted a Lynch Skulls and Snakes after playing one at a shop I used to work at. That was way back in the early 90's when the first run with the Screamin' Demon was released.

That color is awesome
So glad everything worked out

Little jealous, not much
But a lil

How heavy is it

According to full case to empty case weight, my bathroom scale says 8.2 lbs.

Thanks eveyone:bigthumb:

Beautiful color. Too bad about the body shape. Ha, ha, just kidding.

You have a locking nut...any reason for the locking tuners?

You know, I pondered that myself. I came up with a) Oh darn I just dropped part of my nut and it rolled under the stage. Guess I can still moderately use the trem. b) ESP bean counters figured you can add an up charge for it.
There may be a valid reason that I cannot see other than ESP saw it was good, said it was good and it was good.

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

SOOO glad to see you finally got the guitar! I was just thinking about this!

Gorgeous, by the way!

P.S. - I often use locking tuners in addition to a locking nut, not because it offers any additional tuning stability (it doesn't), but because it makes quick string changes a cinch

Re: Holy Cr@p. ESP FRX

Yeah, that's the only reason I can see for the locking tuners. By the way, I love the convenience of locking tuners and have them on all of my builds and most of my bought guitars.

I have some with and some without. I like the thumbwheel styles the best.

I missed this thread before.[ pics request in the other thread ] Good to see it is finally in your hands and as pleasing as you hoped it to be. Yes , get stuck into it, it sounds like it's great to have.
