Hooking up a Rockman Chorus

Awhile back, I bought a Rockman Chorus unit. It didnt work right so I got it over hauled. Now, Im not sure how to hook it up. Can anyone help? Ive never used rack gear so Im guessing this would go thru the effects loop of the amp??
What jacks on the back as there are a bunch?? Thanks!

Re: Hooking up a Rockman Chorus

Congratulations ! All the Rockman stuff is so cheap used, it's almost a crime not to buy it. You get great quality for little money.
The effects send (or pre-amp out) of your amp goes to the input of the chorus. The mono out goes to the effects return (or power amp in) of your amp.

All the other things there are for switching the unit functions and bypassing and another output for use in stereo setups. Some of them are really sweet, such as the "sweep stop" function. It simply "freezes" the sound of your chorus. :)
If you want to be able to be able to turn this bugger off, connect a basic footswitch to the bypass input on the rear.

If you could give me some more deteails of your setup, I might be able to give you some more pointers on how to get the most out of this little bugger. :)

Let me know what you think of the sound. Even mono, I'd say this thing is pretty wide.

Re: Hooking up a Rockman Chorus

I use an old Rockman Delay through the loop on my Marshall and ran a companion Chorus unit back in the late 80's- mid 90's with it. The Rockman units are really nice and yes indeed I would run them through the loop if possable. The back jacks if I remember right on the Chorus should be -Bypass- stereo imputs-stereo outputs. They should be marked right at the jacks on the rear.On my delay Left in is The mono and Right out. Hope this helps bro.
PS here is a clip from "back in the day" with me running all the Rockman stuff through the loop on my JCM 900 Marshall http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=261302&songID=2478667

Actually, I bought it a couple years ago and paid a good bit for it.. Im not sure what they went for new. But I love the sound. I had it completely refurbished by Perfect sound Rock Refurbs. I just wish it could be bypassed..
Ill be running it thru either a Peavey Ultra plus half stack or a Peavey classic 30.
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Hooking up a Rockman Chorus

They've gone up in price then ? I bought and sold mine for about € 75 / US$ 95 but this was around 2001 or 2002. I found pictures of the halve-a-rack unit that I used to have:

I see I remembered the rear and the jacks correctly. Hooking it up should be a piece of cake: effcts send to the input, effects return to the mono output.
If you connect a simple single button amp-footswitch to the bypass jack, you can bypass the effect. This lady seems to have a bunch for little money:

Just for fun, you should try and connect your guitar to the input of the chorus unit, one amp to the direct output and one to the and processed output. Then, you can play with this thing in stereo and completely space it out ! :)
