How bad would this sound in an LP?

I want a high gain pick (like practically everyone does) so I was thinking invader, cause I like it. But I hear my LP would just sound muddy as heck so I was thinking of getting this pup called a crusader (gfs content).

Or should I get a JB, just wondering if its good enough to do metal. (Yes I know Mustain uses them, but I dont listen to megadeth that much) I'm more of a Bodom guy, could it cover that OK. I know, far off from an EMG 81, but whats crackin guys.

Basically what is a good PUP for my LP for high gain, will the invader work? I can't think of anyone that uses an invader in a mahogany guitar. Also, I dont want EMGs or any actives, I've already got them.

Distortion bridge and full shred neck and you'll have a perfect hi-gain combo

In a LP, I would go with a Pearly Gates in the neck and a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, or a full on Duncan Distortion set.

Would the reason an invader be to muddy because it is so bassy? And the point would be to find a high hain pickup with more of a treble feel?

I had an invader in a LP once and it was definately muddy in my opinion. I think invaders sound best in strats.

Thanks for the input just in case. Do you know how a JB would sound instead?

About Invader or other bassy p-u : they are muddy cause low frequencies are slower than high ones , it's physics .
With such p-u you can have a deep wall of distortion but don't play speed metal with it .

With a Lespaul, I'd go with the Duncan Distortion. Those 2 compliment each other very nice tone wire when used together.

Cheers

I had a Duncan Distortion set in a LP for a few years.

Badass.

just dont put a duncan custom, its very harsh when treble is increased!!
and dark when EQ is flat.

I personally dont like the JB. A lot of guys on here like the JB in a les paul though. I would recommend the Distortion as the others are saying.
