How do I get this tone.

ehdwuld

A Ficus
I must be doing something wrong

How do I get this tone?
I have heard it in other recordings
But this is the most iconic to me

I know there is distortion
I know there is reverb

What pedals
What order
What knob settings

Could someone please help me

Re: How do I get this tone.

We are talking about the main tone of the intro riff right? (The guitar on the left...) I dunno what the guitar is but I could get to close to it with a tele. But could be a HB though!

Blackface Deluxe and possibly a light but hifish od (Timmy could do it, so can BD-2 or Maxon D&S II). OF course, you could crank up the vol (check out around 5.20 and 8:20).

The solo is clearly a tele I think (or maybe a strat)... TS with a blackface kinda amp.

I dunno the pedals that he is using, but I bet I could get quite close with this new Alter Ego of mine and cranking up volume event with a Blues Jr.

His amp seems to be a tweed (baseman maybe?) so I guess the catch is the high vol.

Re: How do I get this tone.

Sounds like a tweedy tele to me. That's a pretty iconic sound that happens when you use those 2 things, with the amp turned up. Maybe a tiny bit of trem, too.

Re: How do I get this tone.

A big part of the tone is the Bigsby even if you don't touch it it adds a very unique tone. I heard it right off the bat.

Re: How do I get this tone.

OD of some sort (sounds kinda fendery to me) -> slapback delay for the main guitar sounds. Then you can hear some trem and slide playing on the complementing guitar parts. Guitar sounds are kinda twangy, which makes me think telecaster, or maybe the right strat bridge pickup.

Re: How do I get this tone.

So you guys think it could be
Tele
Into a Fender amp
With tremolo and reverb
Cranked?
Maybe a delay

Does that sound right?

I dont think I have A tremolo pedal

My Cube has tremolo
And a Fender model
When I get back to the house
I'll see what we can do

Dang it

An LP does Tele pretty well

Re: How do I get this tone.

sounds like a tele bridge pup with slapback echo and a bit of reverb. i know hes using a lp in the video, but that tone is quite different than the one in the first clip.

Re: How do I get this tone.

Here's how I would get it.

Left guitar:

- low output (chimey) PAF in guitar with good low mids (prolly Les Paul)
- Fendery vintage tube distortion
- slapback echo (~100ms)
- little bit o' plate verb

Right guitar:

- same guitar & amp
- tremolo
- ~400ms echo with multiple repeats
- heavy plate verb
