How do I get those dot inlays out?

Re: How do I get those dot inlays out?

Drill out the old ones and replace them with either other inlays or matching wood ;)

Any good luthier´s supply will have the proper materials and glues, although black epoxy you should be able to get at any hardware store (z. Dt. Baumarkt). THe tools are: a drill

Hope it helps

How can I actually replace those dot inlays in my neck?

This isn't another April fools Joke, Right? Inlay work requires lots of skill and
patiance. If you try it on your guitar The fretboard will be a splintery mess.
If you want to learn Inlay work get yourself a junker guitar and some
instructional video's and tools. That said ... it's better left to the Pro's.

Re: How do I get those dot inlays out?

I sure wouldn't use a hand drill! Maybe a drill press...

I dunno...seems like one of those questions where if you have to ask, you probably lack the experience to get it right the first time.

I'd leave it alone.

Hehe I think I have my old Squier neck left... ;)
But can it be so hard just to get the old dots out and replace the with new ones of same size?
