I'm with drew on this one... not too crazy about the color, but i like everything else. The Jazz/Jb in an alder body is a great sound to me.

As for "ruining a classic" I think people are overreacting a little. Taking a '52 Nocaster and changing the tuners and the bridge... THAT would be ruining a classic. Taking a '62 Strat and routing it for a Floyd would be ruining a classic. This is just another model of guitar.

Sounds like a good combo to me. I love Teles, but I hate thier neck pickups. I will never have a Tele without a hummer in the neck.

i love it. i had the same idea except mine is black with white pickguard, rosewood fretboard. Nickel covered neck pickup (jazz). and the bridge would be one of those from warmoth that look like the classic tele bridge but accepts a humbucker (black jb). 5 way switch set up like the double fat deluxe strat. and switch the control plate to where the volume knob is nearest to the neck.
