Re: How much does your main guitar weigh?
Of the 11 Les Pauls I have, all but two of them weigh in between 8.9 and 9.2 lbs.; that includes solidbody Historics, two Supremes and an Elegant that are chambered, and two weight-relieved 1960 Classics with Plus tops. The other two are chambered Classic Antiques, at 7.9 and 8.2 lbs. The Classic Antiques almost feel too light, but they can really rock!
I haven't weighed most of my G&Ls, because weight typically isn't an issue for me with these guitars. But I have weighed two of them. My maple cap over mahogany ASAT Deluxe has the G&L Dual Fulcrum Vibrato and weighs in at 9.5 lbs! Heavier than any of my Pauls! I have one ash-bodied Legacy Special, with a beautiful birdseye maple neck and an ebony fingerboard, and it reads about 9.4 lbs. These are right about at my limit--I find anything over 9.5 to be too heavy--no 12 lb. Norlin-era Customs for me!
Most everything else I have, the MM Sabre IIs, the Ibanez Ghostriders, the 335 and clones are all manageable weights, so I'm guessing between 8 to 9 lbs., with some a little lighter.
A good strap, good ergonomic design and good balance go a long way in mitigating a heavy guitar.
I hope that helps.
