yeah that too. I couldn't wait to go home and grab my guitar before but now I dread picking it up for any sort of practice

If you dread picking up your guitar, then it's already past time to quit. :sad: I've never once dreaded picking up my guitar in over 20 years of playing.

Maybe step away from it for a while. You might be making matters worse by forcing yourself to play. Give it a rest, then your interest might pick up again. It happens from time-to-time. I find it always passes in time.

This! I've been playing for over 30 years and have been obsessed with it for most of that time. But there were times I had to recharge the batteries, so I could feel the mojo again. That's just how life is. Step away from the guitar until you feel the urge/need come back again. And then it may come back in spades and you'll feel more inspired than ever!

Trty and learn something that is outside your comfort zone.

Also ask the neighbor what he thinks.

If you don't feel it, stop it. You can restart anywhere later if the bug bites you again.

that's actually great advice. and yeah as a guitarist/bassist I'd recommend taking up the bass, it opened up a whole new perspective for me

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it, actually. Been thinking about it a long time.
