The title of this thread should now be changed to ' HOW TO: Make a 59/Jazz neck Hybrid ' in an effort to get more attention for that brilliant combination and hopefully into the production line as the obvious partner for the 59/Custom bridge. In my not-so-humble opinion.

^^ To add: I don't get why this thread isn't permanently sticky. Sure, you can buy the pu from a shop now, but this is something of a historical document in the SD annals now.

Nah, this needs to stay strongly in the public eye until the SD company adds the 59/Jazz neck hybrid and the JB/Custom bridge hybrid to the production range, as happened to the 59/Custom. All this wasted effort on the Silver Zephyrs could so easily be used more effectively to do this, and I'm sure the hybrids will be much easier to market and make available for people to experience, at a much lower cost than the Zephyrs.

This thread needs to remain in the light of day and should reclaim it's rightful place stickied at the top of the first page. More enduring pressure needs to be applied to get the other two hybrid models i mentioned above into the production line. Only after that happens should this thread be placed into The Vault. Not before.

What wasted effort? They're done. If someone orders a Zeph, they build them. I don't think the availability of a custom shop pickup gets in the way of a hybrid going into production.

Used my 59/custom not more than 2 hours ago. What a wonderful thing. Seriously playing full chords could only be described as ..... Majestic. Such a snarly swirl with overdrive. Seriously sick.

Got an unpotted SH-16 and it's very near perfect for most anything. All it needs is the neck companion, like Adam needed Eve so God made her. Hint, hint, wink, nudge! Say no more!

Hint to the fearless tinkerers in here: Take any unpotted PAF-style pup, and unwind 500-1000 turns off the screw coil, and congratulations: Neck hybrid. Adjust screw poles to taste.

I would absolutely buy all three of these pickups. I'm strongly considering a '59/Custom hybrid for my EC1000 if I convert it to passives.

Yes, would love for them to come out with the 59/Jazz neck hybrid to match the Hyrbid bridge and maybe the JB/Custom for good measure?

Dude I remember checking out this whole forum before I decided to buy the 59/custom for the bridge pickup in my superish stratish. Damn I'm thankful for this thread. That 59/Jazz would be awesome, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. And I got a few friends who would love something like a JB/custom.
