How to make a nut?

Hey guys, i need to make a nut for my Peavey, and i would appreciate any information and help about how to do it .

Go to a guitar tech to get it done, it's a job that's very easy to screw up. You'll need to buy a couple of different files to cut the nut slots.

I agree, if you've never done it before I'd take the axe to a tech. I wouldn't want my first try to be the nut on one of my players, it'd be for a junker.

here is a step by step guide to making a nut.

you can also buy a pre-slotted nut for most guitars which takes most of the tough work outta the job.

for best results .. take it to a really good tech .. your guitar will come back playing better than ever .. with little or no frustration.
