How to turn a wah into a volume pedal?

Re: How to turn a wah into a volume pedal?

Ahh...I did this...sorta... Theres this resistor, UF4.7 if I remember right...and you just lift or ground the leg of it, and it turns it into a volume supposedly...although for me its more of a tone control now. The other way I'd guess is to wire it up as a volume control, just gut the whole pedal, and do that one mod to the pot where the highs arent rolled off as volume is. It'd be a 1meg pot though, I believe???

thanks dead, but this isnt my pedal so i have to be SURE lol. would wiring it differently be just like wiring a guitar volume control?

I suppose that stratdeluxe guy called john would know this cause I sure dont.

WEELLLL....

For a passive volume (zero to full signal. basically what your guitar's volume would give you) you should be able to just gut it and hook the lines to the switch, and then to the pot. You wouldn't even need a power supply in this instance.

For an active pedal (zero to above signal, a "boost") you would need to make some mods to the circuit. However, I'm not that familiar with the circuitry to help you out there...

Re: How to turn a wah into a volume pedal?

Depends on your definition of "best".

The Ernie Ball seems to pop up quite a bit. I've seen a few guys with the Dunlop High Gain. I personally am partial to the Morley Little Alligator for it's design...

Re: How to turn a wah into a volume pedal?

Recentl i was going to buy a Dunlop wah modded with a switch to switch from wah to volume, i ended up not buying it bu thte guy i think said he did it himself so it couldn't be that hard...

Give John ( STRATDELUXER97 ) a pm and he will most likley know how tp do this, nice guy too..
