Well . . . kinda. :) The bodies are robust. The thin plastic disc thats immediately underneath, that holds the wiper isn't. Overheat the case, and you can warp the disc, ruining the pot. Its why I virtually never solder to the back of a pot. They weren't designed for that.

I'm glad that you made this comment. I've read the same comment elsewhere about not overheating the bottom of the pot for the same reason that you give.

Thanks, I didn't have the courage/confidence to mention this as everybody seems to think that the the pots are so "robust" in general.

Do you solder ground wires to the side of the pot :duh:
Stupid question on my part...not much of the pot left to choose from...trying to make a point for your suggestion here.
Any specific related recommendations that you have learned through time?
