How’s the quality of WD or AllParts Strat necks?

This would be for my 1988 MIJ Squier Strat.

I prefer a 1 11/16” nut width and I see a few WD necks on Reverb with that spec.

Haven’t seen any All Parts...they’re all 1 5/8”.

Don’t want to spend USA Custum or Warmoth prices for a neck for this guitar.

Thinking 12” radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 tallish frets, and I’ve already found several WD necks on Reverb that would fill the bill, but I have no experience with them and don’t know if they’re any good.

I don’t mind doing fret work, making a nut or even reshaping a neck and finish8ng it.

Any suggestions?

Can't speak to WD, but Allparts necks are very nice for the cost. Options are limited but well made.

Lew, you want the SRO-W for the wider nut.

22 narrow jumbo frets (.095" x .055")
sanded, unfinished and ready to spray
12" radius
Nut width 1-11/16"
Heel width 2-3/16"
Tuning peg hole diameter .340"
Truss rod adjustment at heel
Neck thickness .84" at first fret, .94" at twelfth fret.

I got one of those to try out. Pretty good neck except that (at least the one I got) the frets were beveled way too much. I took all the frets out and after I do some hardwood inlays and new fret markers I will be putting in new frets.

Shouldn't cost as much as a whole guitar

I was thinking just before clicking this thread,
How I want to put a Carvin neck on my candy apple Squire

I want the
Stainless frets
Maple board
Tilt back headstock
And graphite nut

That the current neck doesn't have

I like their tuners as well

I've used a few of the WD Tele necks and several of their bass necks all have been very good to excellent

Thanks. Going to try a WD. Has all the specs I’m after and they’re affordable.

Still more than I paid for the whole guitar 25 years ago tho!

I don't know how accurate it is, but I've heard (from a WD Dealer) that their necks are made in the same Czech Republic factory that makes Spector Euro basses.

Never used a WD so be interested in what you think of it. Allparts are basically Fender Japan and have been quality

Paid for the WD and it’s on the way. It’s unfinished so I can rework it a bit if need be. $150 shipped.

Seems perfect in every way.

It seems a little heavy though. It’s my first neck with a pau ferro fingerboard. Looks like rosewood but I wonder if it’s heavier.

Fender uses pau ferro for the fingerboard on the SRV Strat.

Got the neck on it. This is going to be my 10 sound Strat. The bridge pickup is a Hot For Tele Tapped. The neck I s a Fralin and the middle is a Duncan Surfer. The middle pickup will be connected to an off/on switch I have yet to drill the hole for. When that switch is flipped the middle pickup is added to whatever the 5 way switch is set for: Hot bridge, bridge & neck, neck, vintage bridge & neck, or vintage bridge, yielding 10 sounds, including all on.
