HSH wiring question

Hey guys, so I'm trying to wire a Strat with an SH-2 Jazz neck, a stacked single-coil humbucker middle (can't decide which one yet, but for this example, pretend it's the STK-S4), and an SH-4 JB bridge.

I want to be able to accomplish the following:

1) 5-way switch that has the following tonal options:

Position 1 - JB alone
Position 2 - JB + middle stack
Position 3 - middle stack alone
Position 4 - middle stack + Jazz
Position 5 - Jazz alone

ALSO, the volume knob can be pulled to coil split the Jazz and JB, without affecting the middle stack. This is done so I can get traditional Strat tones in positions 2 and 4. The only knob is a single master volume (so only one pot, the 500K push-pull pot, in the entire circuit, no tones).

How would I wire this, and if it's possible, is there a diagram that can guide me?

Re: HSH wiring question

In the following diagram, just add your middle stacks copper wire to the ground (back/side of the potentiometer), and tape off the red wire so that it connects to nothing.

Swyse, I was actually taking a look at that diagram before. My original question aside, what does that particular diagram do exactly? What does the push-pull do?

The push pull splits the humbuckers. It does exactly exactly what you're asking for.

Re: HSH wiring question

The pushpull, when down does nothing, when pulled up it splits the neck and bridge humbuckers to single coils. The stack is unaffected and will always be noise cancelling(full) if you wire it how I wrote in my above post.

it will give you:

1. neck full
2. neck full + middle full
3 middle full
4 bridge full + middle full
5 bridge full

push pull pulled up gives you

1. neck split
2 neck split + middle full
3 middle full
4 bridge split + middle full
5 bridge split

Re: HSH wiring question

Thank you guys. I've actually wired push-pull coil splits before, I was just confused on what to do with the middle pickup.

Re: HSH wiring question

You can do this without a switch. You can wire it to auto split in the notch positions automatically. Use the classic stack auto split diagram, but for the JB and jazz substitute white and for red, black for white and green for black. Wire the stack exactly as on the diagram
