Hurray! New Guitar :-D

hey

finally bought my new guitar, after a quest that lasted about a month and a half.
i've been leaning in various directions and then i bought what i least expected would appeal to me:
RG2820CTTW Prestige

i realy dont like Ibanez in general, especially not RG's, but this one has something to it.
i picked it up and it was just right, the tone is KICKASS.

apperently this guitar is a one run limited edition, so its not one of those fugly serial RG's.
specs: Mahogany body, curly maple top, bolt on (AANJ) construction maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with tree of life inlay in abalone and pearl. the bridge is the new edge pro trem, and the pickups are (*drums*):
dimarzio steve's special bridge, air norton neck.
these pickups seriously kick every duncan i've played.

all in all i am VERY satisfied with this guitar, it is a quality instrument and it sounds and plays like a wet dream.

im realy enjoying it so far

i got it for $1400 although its worth approx. $1900 - $2000.

y2stevo, dont call her Ibeenhad, that guitar won a head to head battle w/ a Jackson SL-1 :smoker:

Rid, if you would have read the original post at the start of the thread you'd know the bridge pickup is a steve's special :wink:

Where do you water it so that tree of life inlay in abalone and pearl keeps growing :joke:


Nice looking guitar - that rosewood board looks very dark in colour almost like an ebony board - enjoy it!! :friday:

I hate Ibanez with a Passion, but that one doesn´t look (or as far as features go, sound) half bad.

btw, how's the neck? is it that ****ty paperthin wizard2 or whatever neck it is that ibanez likes to sport? or is it more comfortable, jackson style stuff?

they call it Prestige Ultra neck.
i reckon its not as thin as the wizard necks, but its still very thin.
the finish on it is satin gloss, so the back doesnt feel like a chunk of maple, but has that finished smoothness to it which realy kicks ass.

i was more attracted to this instrument by its tone, but i couldnt ignore the fact that the guitar is such a player :dance:

i love the open humbucker cavities, the pickup rings just get in the way during sweep picking :fing25:
