Re: I am freaking out right now (cool story)
i didnt argue that part. i argued the fact that people moded gear when it was available for cheap, to get something that wasnt available in stock form.
if it means putting a kahler on a les paul.. then be it
and preserving it, so it might be worth something within the next half century? f*ck that. i for one, am not ashamed of my mods. it's what i need and what i want at that given time. it's mine and should be of no concern to you in any way
well, that one i do agree with. you have to be plain stupid to take a vintage strat and route it for a floating floyd.. or take a plexi and mod the shyt out of itThe Golden Boy said:Maybe you're misunderstanding me, I have no problem with taking an off the shelf instrument and carving it up. I have a problem with someone taking an old guitar and carving it up.

the tool does what you intend to do with it. if all i can have is a stock (apart of the pickups) guitar, then it's no fun. and i for one cant afford 10 guitars to get all of the styles they were intended to do. i will take one, or two and make them cover various styles. It's not about the resale but acknowledging that you're changing a tool to be and do something it was never intended to do.
