I cant get rid of my Budda cabinet?!!!

As some of you know i had a Budda Superdrive 80 II head and the matching 4x12 and had to sell the head awhile ago. I had no trouble selling either one, but i couldnt send the cab because NO ONE has a big enough box! And i do mean NO ONE! I no longer have the box it came in and none of the local music stores ever have any because were they keep throwing them out or using them for one thing or another. All the local stores are very small and rarely carry 4x12's anyway! I have driven an hour and a half to the closest guitar center several times and they never keep any for me even though i have asked several times. Anyway, i have a great cab that i have no use for at the moment and no way to get rid of it and yes i have tried putting it on consignment but since there are no Budda dealers or owners anywere around here and most people dont want to pay to much for a cab, i still cant sell it. Is there anyone who has a 4x12 box they want to ship to me (as goofy as that sounds) I would pay for the shipping and even some extra for the trouble. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I cant get rid of my Budda cabinet?!!!

How come you don't keep it, but use a more appropriate head with it? I'm sure that cab sounds great, but the SD80 was just way too loud for your needs.
At home, for noise reasons, I still use a 4-12 or 2-12, but use the Valvetronix AD60 head. Since I can bring the volume way down, I can get cranked Vox, Marshall, and Recto tones at a volume that my neighbors can't even hear. Just an idea.

Yah, It is a real good sounding cab, i guess i could keep it. I guess it just bugs me having a cabinet with speakers specifically voiced for another amp and than using a different one. Ill admit it probably more of a mental thing, but still....

Have you checked U-Haul or some local packing/shipping/moving companies for a box?

Also, I believe some bus/train companies will carry stuff for you, but you have to pick up at their depot.

Re: I cant get rid of my Budda cabinet?!!!

go to an appliance store and ask if they have any left over refridgerator, range, ect boxes. If they do, just use them and cut to fit with some duct tape.

-McGyver style.

yeah when i need to ship large items I use different boxes from large appliances.

Get a few fridge boxes and cut em up, throw foam and packing peanuts in and your set.

Re: I cant get rid of my Budda cabinet?!!!

Maybe just sell the speakers off and put some speakers in there that suit your new rig?

Head to MailBoxes Etc. They will package and ship anything. Or, try the new FEDEX/Kinko's route. They will package and ship anything, too.

List on Craigslist - Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area (I think it's still free). Maybe someone will buy on their way back from Tahoe after a ski trip.

Yeah, sell it for local pick-up only. Just don't show strangers all your gear. Let them test in out in the garage or something.

grab some bubble wrap, the big kind. wrap the sucker in that. be sure to rmove any casters. then go get some cardboard, and start wrapping. leave holes for handles if necessary. package casters seperately, or if need be can leave them in to, but i woudlnt trust em to survive with the idgits in delivery and recieving these days.

the cab will arrive safely. good luck!!
