I got frustrated but it turned out ok.....

So I wanted to do white with black stripes on this headstock and after several failed attempts I was about to smash this neck into a million pieces. But I got the idea to burn the stripes into the wood with my soldering iron and I think it came out pretty good. And the good part is I can simple paint over it if I need to.

That looks awesome. So, I've never used that type of string lock...what's its deal? Was it to get around FR patents?

Thanks. And this string lock is actually a Khaler lock. This neck didnt come on this body so floyd II bridge and khaler nut. but I quite like this nut design makes adjustments and string changes pretty easy
