V's are metal.
I mean you can do metal without a V but that's not TR00.
Get it.
V's allways were too neck heavy. I love pointies but wanted somthing that ballanced better on a strap. I sold off all my V's but kept a couple of my Carvin X220's.
Here I am at the 05 South Eastern Carvin bash with my Sapphire Blue Flame Ultra V

i've always hated flying v guitars. if anything ever came close to something i MIGHT like, it would have been the randy rhodes jackson v that costs like $3000. now there's this friggin gibson flying v.
i don't know what it is, but i played it once and since i keep thinking about it. i hate the guitar, but oh man did it play awesome and sound awesome. the one i saw looked like this with an ebony fretboard and it was only like $900
I've never found Vs unbalanced at all, unless you have an older style location for the strap pins (on the side instead of at the back of the heel and/or way back towards the tip on the top fin). Current Gibson Vs blance beautifully IME, and my old Faded at around 6 pounds was prolly the most comfy guitar I've ever owned.
I love Vs. I think the 58 style looks better, but the 67 style is more comfy (plus I prefer TOM vs. a string through). Along with SGs, I also think V's are the most "vocal" and expressive instruments Gibson makes (having pretty much owned them all :laugh2: )
maybe that's a good thing because one day i might have a hall of guitars to walk through and a room full of amps to play one. hell, i might even have my own friggin recording studio. i love guitars and guitar equipment. i like to play different stuff all the time. when i'm at work, all i think about is playing guitar. sooner or later that's all i'll do. what a great life that is for me to look forward to
They were all neck heavy and would rotate when you let go of the neck if you were not carefull. The Gibsons and Jacksons are pretty much the same I've owned um all.

This V was just announced today as the next Dean Owners Open House guitar. Deposit on #28/50 has been placed. Check Dean Forum for info.
Q: Why do you dig that V?
A: You found the needle in the haystack, the one production Gibson less than $1,000,000 that they make each year that doesn't play and sound like arse. It's like winning the lottery.
you meen mike amott ESP V? copy-erThat looks awesome! Can the pickguard be taken off, or will that render the control panel useless? If you could take the pickguard off, that guitar would look awesome. Or... since it's black, if you put a mirror pickguard on it, you can do the "Lynott/Sykes" thing but with a Flying V!
I want a Korina V. Truthfully I doubt I will ever have one.
You cant play them sitting down you know.
