Hi,
I have 2 magnets, 1 duncan that I marked as I took it out: which side is baseplate(down)/which side is facing away from guitar(up). Also marked which side faces screws. There is a blue mark on the edge facing slugs(north, i think) and this mark is on the edge that is NOT close to bobbin wires(no wires in marked edge where i pulled it out.
I bought an A5 mag that has mark on one side in the middle of the edge(also assuming this side is north). But using the opposite attract-like pushes away rule, dose not match the web examples of how to install polarity.
I know there was a thread about mags & orientation, but it was over my head. Hear is the problem: the tutorials say as you take the mag out make sure the next mag going in sticks(attracted). If I do that, the marks no longer face the SAME direction. I hope you see my problem. I have no meters or compasses nor can I get any(can't travel due to spinal defects). There must be a way to figure it out with the marked mag.
All my guitars are together, so I don't want to test it in the guitar, it does hurt me to take things apart.
Steve-thanks
