I have an alnico II Pro 'Bucker in my strat, But I want to Shred!

Hi, A while back I replaced my Stock foreign made bridge humbucker with an Alnico II Pro(my guitar is a strat knock-off, Alder body, Rosewood Fingerboard)

It was definatly a improvement, the difference was that between noise and music

But lately I've been feeling like it's to vintage sounding, I can't play like them yet, but my style is Zakk Wylde/ Randy Rhoads(you know lots of wanking) and i can't get the screaming lead tone and my tapping sounds Tinny.

My amp is just a practice amp, and I could possibly upgrade to an amp in the $300-$500 dollar range, but for immediate purposes, will a different pickup help me out?

The amp will be 500% more important than the pickup!

Duncan Distortion is what you want if your looking for Rhoads/Wylde.

+1 on the amp, +1 on the Distortion, and also think about getting a decent distortion pedal (like the ProCo Rat).
