It's true. Something about the sound of an electric guitar plugged into some kind of amplifier is just so...amazing! It's all the tonal girth and heaviness of a symphony orchestra and them some, but I get to control it all! I'd be willing to fancy a fella could make just about any sound in the world with one of these!

What do you guys think? Are electric guitars "in" or what?

I prefer the sound of an electric to the sound of an acoustic any day. Alot of girls around here say "oh but you can feel so much more of their emotion on acoustic" and while that's a reason to continue my acoustic playing, I find that with the electric guitar you can express yourself so much more. Use effects, amps, guitars to pull yourself closer to the sound in your head where you can express really express the emotions you want to.

As they say, Muddy Waters invented electricity, why go back?

girls like acoustic guitars, sure, but an acoustic player is what they call "relationship material," and basically they just want you to learn songs they know & become their jukebox/*****.

if you play electric well, ones with bigger boobs will flock to you, expect to be cheated on, and have already learned that you're not there to be their jukebox. Furthermore, they know that if they show up at your house without enough beer for your entire band they're not welcome.

moral of the story; if you want preppy flat chested air heads to control you, go on ahead & become Dave Matthews

otherwise, learn to solo like JP

Haha good one Xander. The secret to my tone is getting an electric guitar and then plugging it into an amplifier. That's how I get my tone. No ambiguity about it whatsoever. That's... exactly how you get that tone. Tone.

You know what? I have no idea... I do happen to play electric guitar... and AHAHAHA, that last part was gold.

I agree. The sound, and action, of an electric is unbeatable. When I have a craving for an acoustic sound, I play a hollow body electric.

When I have a craving to for an acoustic sound, i go outside and punch a tree until my fists are bloody then plug in my SG and rock out like a man!!
