i need a cheap amp

i need a much larger amp. i currently have a crate v1512, and i yearn for one of those huge half stacks. but im only 15 and i dont really have any money.

so, do yall have any recomendations for a moderatley priced head (it can be used). im tihnking no more than 600 dollars used. im gonna buy a mesa cab. my minds made up for that one. but i have my eye on a peavey xxl, or a laney aor, or a peavey ultra, or a carvin mts. i dont care if its tube or ss. but it must sound as good as what is possible for that price range.

or, could i buy a fender and run a kickass distortion pedal throught it

What kinda music do you wanna play? or maybe what bands do you wanna sound like.


I've been really interested in learning about the Sovtek Mig 50. You can find them on Ebay for cheap and they have amazing reviews.

I also hear good things about the peavey 5150 if you like harder rock/metal.

HMMMM........ Thats a decent load of cash to spend on a used head. I've heard that the Fender Jazzmaster heads are very good for a clean sound which would be a great base for tone building. They aren't very pricey. The Peavey Valve King is also with in that range as well as the Winsor. I bet you could also find a nice used Marshall head for that price.

um. it would be hard rock/ metal. im really into the grindcore stuff right now but that could change by tomorrow. i also like the scandinavian metal too, which would be a 5150.

nah bro get a peavy bandit. They are loud as hell, sound great and since your gonna run a cab, you can just turn it into a head if you don't feel like walking around with a cab, and a combo. You can scrore one of those new for 400 bucks. used for like 100. So, you can run two of those suckers in stereo.

hey ya know, i just so happen to have a marshall ss for sale !!!!


i dunno, for that much maybe some used peavys. i think going with a good clean sound then running some pedals would be your best bet.
