i need info on string pull

Hi. I installed my JB/Jazz set, and then set pickup height as indicated in the instruction (i think it was 1/8th of and inch for neck and 1/16th of an inch for bridge, thats about 0.35cm and 0.25cm)

I want to know how can you tell if the string pull is too much, because I wounldnt mind lowering the pickups a little bit if the pull is too much as I have it now.

it was 1/16th for the bridge? wow. that sounds really high to me. i usually set all mine to, when your holding down the string on either side at the last fret, its 1/8th away from the strings for both pickups

You could just try lowering it and checking the tone like that... Really if you like it better that way why not? its not like its gonna hurt it or anything...
The best way I found to listen to string pull is to do it with the guitar unplugged and just adjust by ear... you can hear when its too close... on some viscious pickups like the Invader the string pull can be hard enough to slightly pull the strings out of tune
