Re: I need opinions about the Bogner Ecstasy 101B!
I have a SHiva 1 12" EL34 80W amp. It is the best channel switching amp I have ever played thru. The only thing I would have done differently is bought a head and 2 12" cab with vintage 30's. The 80W Celestion in this amp is a little modern sounding. I am more of a Blues/rock player, but I like to have some edge to my tone and the drive channel on the Shiva provides me with as much and a lot more that I want. The clean channel is just flat out beautiful. I can't speak for the Extacy, but the simplicity of the SHiva is what I really like. The clean channel has volume, treble, Bass. The drive channel has Gain, treble, mid, bas and volume. Then the amp has a master volume and a master presence, which is sort of like a mastrer treble control. It is very easy to dial in a good sound out of both channels and the amp just flat out smokes anything else in its class. I have not used it much yet. I know that sounds strange, but prior to me buying this amp I was/am using a Marshall 900 that I A/B with a SF Super Reverb. I have used this set up for close to 15 years and I am very comfortable with my sound. As I learn how the Bogner will react to all of my guitars and material I will eventually be using it exclusively. I love my Shiva
