i need wireless ASAP!!

hey all, im not sure if i should be posting this here or not, but im currently in the market for a wireless system for my guitar. wondered what you guys like/dont like. ive been looking at a couple on samash, they have free shipping right now, and i need this ASAP!! we're playing a big show on Dec. 1st and id like ot have it by then. i'd like to stay at or under 350. here are the main two i've been looking at:

I have a Senheisser G2 which is awesome. So good that the other guitarist and the bass player got one... oh, and the singer got the vocal version. So apart from the drummer... we're all wireless, so imagine how pi55ed off he gets when we all leave him on his own! Not the chealest, but up there with the best. Absolutely no issues with them interfering with each other 'coz they have so many frequencies, and I have been out of the room and down the road.. probably about 50mts+ away with walls in between and never lost the signal. Fantastic bit of kit... lets you get told off for playing the intro to Sweet Child O Mine and riffing to Zeps Rock and Roll ... standing on the tables of course! With wireless you get what you pay for bro. All the best.

do you think any of those are worth it? my bassist uses the bug and it worked GREAT for him. he'd get up on the bar and **** at gigs, it seems great!!

To be fair they are not too bad, but I had lots of advice and tried a few and I spent more coz I wanted something that would last a long time, the G2 is a metal bodied box and there are loads of channels and features. I have heard good reports about the bug, but I can't vouch for them or the durability... but hey, if you don't try you won't know... but man... it's great to be free to walk around and just mess about like ordering drinks.. going into the car park and stuff. I've got a Samson Airline - picked up a gtr transmitter when my mic died - and I've found it's okay if you're using lower-output pups, but it really doesn't give you the added kick of something like a Distortion, Custom, or JB - my JB only drove my preamp about as hard as my Jazz would.

Haven't tried the Shure or the other Samson, but I'm going to take a guess and say that the Concert will probably deliver a similar response to the Airline.

The Internets seem to agree that the X2 Digital system is the way to go - even the lawyers over at TGP think so.

I've been using one of two different Audio Technica 1400 series systems. They're a little outdated now, but they're still the best of any middle of the road systems that I've tried. One is rackmounted in my normal guitar rig, the other I use for my acoustic gigs with Carolyn or when I play bass in pickup bands.

im playing with a DD in one guitar, and a C5 in another. and what i've found with my cheaper wireless i used to have, is that it almost acted like a wireless AND a noise gate. i say that because i used to play with a metal master and i couldn't get any closer than 5 feet away from my amp before it'd squeal like a pig, and with my old (cheaper) wireless, i could walk compeltely up to the amp and nothing would happen. at the time i thought it was great, but i wonder if that was because it wasn't letting as much through...****, i dunno now. audio techna and shure have some that look sorta promising...how do these look guys??

anybody have anymore input? i really need this by this weekend, we're playing a show at the ft. wayne collesium in ft. wayne indiana and the stage is pretty big. me and the other guitarist do some dual solos and we like to move around so, i really need this asap. sorry for bugging everyone. but thanks!

If it's for one gig, short notice, rent one.

Here in Minneapolis, a PGX wireless rig is $25 and a high end one is $60 for a 5-day "weekend" rental.

And if you like it, you might be able to apply the rental against a purchase of said gear, which will usually be a fair bit cheaper than new and still have some warranty left on it.
