Well tomorrow I am going to put a Vox 60vtx on layaway, I played through it for about an hour this weekend and made my decision. Thanks to all who have posted regarding these amps and others, it's always nice to have a place to come where good information is readily available.

They're fun amps! If I could go back to the days when I was first learning guitar, and replace my junky Peavey Studio Pro 40 and MXR Dist + with that Valvetronix combo, I woulda been STOKED! Solid state technology has really improved in the past 20 yrs!
I think the gain control on my old Peavey was called 'Saturation'. LOL Eeeesh.

Hey new guy, just a thought for you. How about a ad60vth and a ad212 cabinet. Basically the same set up except you get an extra 12 inch speaker in the cabinet, and a little more versatilaty with the head. The 60 watt head and combo are identical. The combo sells for $799. I just got the set up I'm talking about for $825. I just spent a little time on the pre set they call def tone, talk about sweet! Either way you go, you are gonna love this thing.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to it...I think it will be a really good amp for what I need. Sac, yea I thought hard about getting the head / cab thing but for what I need the combo should do well, plus it was on sale so....all in all i'm jazzed !!!
