My 03' Standard will be more of a rock guitar I think. Therefore I believe it will get the 11.5K S Deco V, and keep the 59' Neck. This guitar sounds pretty good with a stock C5, but I want something just slightly more vintage, with some extra girth in the mids and lows. From what I read that sounds like the S Deco. The 59' really seems to suite this partictular LP, which is a rarity with me for an A5 bucker. I may at some point slip and A3 or A4 in there.
For the Goldtop...this will be much more vintage. I will go standard Antiquity in the neck, and 10k Antiquity in the bridge, for just a tad more thickness in the bridge. Jeremy says this is the best sounding bucker he has ever heard, and the dude can play some blues. Anyhow, that means 2 custom shop orders, but who cares.
I may actually have my UGD pup re-wound to the S Deco. It's an EVH, but it's damn microphonic...the cover is not potted on, and it's crooked. I can't adjust the pole pieces upward because they hit the cover. Those poor folks at the custom shop had their hands full and then some with all of us at UGD. I'm amazed they all kept their sanity!
Anyhow, I'm going to wait for my Marshall to come back...just to be sure. Then it's off to the custom shop.
