I Want to Clear Up a Misconception

Re: I Want to Clear Up a Misconception

This is not a very good analogy. Superman is Superman regardless of his costume because his bioelectric aura protects his entire body even if he had no clothes. He could still do everything Superman would normally do but naked, the costume is almost just a formality. We need to look at this more like Iron Man

I will do anything for tone but I am not having my heart removed. Maybe for the lead tone on Good Times Bad Times but for anything else it is out of the question.

Four pages of clearing up misconceptions, and counting.

It will never be cleared up we are exchanging ideas. This is what we do. No one is wrong or right, no one is trying to claim victory or force their theory on others. It is a forum on tone, style and gear. The purpose of the forum in general. It is a great discussion on chasing tone. If it bothers you for some reason don't post.

many of these tone chasers won't be admitted in an audition to the Butchers band.

It's just funny that the thread starts out with a premise of setting things straight, then it becomes obvious they will remain crooked for a long time to come.

I have a perfect example of real life experience with this. Last year during the Summer when Guthrie Govan came to town with the Aristocrats I brought my guitar with me to have him sign it and he did and he also played it and guess what? He still sounded like Guthrie even with my guitar in his hands and guess what it sounds like in my hands? No where close to what he sounds like.

Like give a painter a couple of colors and he will paint a picture drastically different then you would or could with the same colors. But the tone of the colors is still the same, and so is the tone that you guys played through. Identical tones can between two musicians but they can and usually will still sound different.
