I think the bias is too cold on the amp but I'm not sure. Since I let change the tubes the sound is "edgy" and cold indeed..hm..I think I'll check the amp elsewhere, have to drive some kilometers to do that but if the amp works then it's worth.

Also, it's hard to get access to the trimpot and the engl amp design is not the cleanest

Dang, I have to do it. Either the bias is too cold for the =C= tubes or the tubes don't have the sound I want, which should be then replaced by JJs.
