Ibanez az224f pickups set

Last month, my guitar teacher lent me his ibanez az224f. I liked it so much that I decided to buy one. The guitar will arrive next week. Unfortunately all the guitar electronics that were lent to me have been replaced. So I couldn't try the hyperion (hss). Does anyone have experience with these Pickups? I listened to several samples online and while I liked the single coils, I found the humbucker a bit devoid of personality. Which seymour duncan pickup can be compared to it?

I don't want to replace them. I am just curious about the opinions of others forumites. As I said the bridge pickup didn't make a good impression to me. But I saw less then ten videos. Or simply my ears are used to more powerful and distinctive sounds like the C8 or the super distortion and I am able to appreciate the sound of the hyperion at the first instance. For what I have read, they are a MJ project, right?

The Hyperions are essentially a Pegasus/Sentient set wound for a little extra output. They are very similar sounding and I actually like them better than the Pegasus/Sentient myself.

I think calling the Hyperion humbuckers "devoid" of personality is a big exaggeration and exactly why "clips" online really can't give you the whole story. They're still used in the MIJ "Prestige" range for a reason.

I think you'll like them. Plus, you could always mag-swap them like any other Duncan if you want to fine-tune them a bit.

These pups are only available in an Ibanez AZ, or used if someone's pulled them out of one.

From what I recall, the Hyperions are A5, the bridge hb being around 15k and the neck not sure, nor what the single coils are in the HSS set, probably more output/winds so all those mix positions in the guitars don't have drastic output differences. If the neck hb is similar to a Sentient, it'll be in the 7-8k range probably.

I saw a HSS 7 string set for sale recently and the dcr was as follows: bridge 17k, middle 13k, neck 12k.
