IBANEZ wiring help please!

Hey Guys,

I had a Seymour Duncan SH4 sitting around my house for months so I finally decided to replace the stock bridge pickup on my Ibanez S7320 with the SH4.

The problem is I'm sure I've done it wrong. The pickup works but sounds bad, noisy, and gutless. I kinda know what an SH4 should sound like because I have one in my six string.

I've looked on the internet for solutions but I can't really seem to find the answer. I'm sure someone here has put seymours into an ibanez so I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

Here's some pics to help:

NOTE: I'm only soldering stuff to the 1st and 5th bit of metal sticking out of the switch, and also the volume pot.

Ibanez's S7320 official wiring diagram:

My S7320's wiring:

notice how in the ibanez diagram it has black soldered to the first piece and on my guitar it's red. Also in the ibanez diagram the red and white wire are soldered to the 5th bit where on my guitar it's the black and white wire.

Thanks in Advance!

Re: IBANEZ wiring help please!

i cant help you with the exact info you need, because i play the IC400 and thats just a three way switch, but i did notice that the phase is backwards for SD's compared to the stock ibanez. i dont know how to flip the phase using the wires because i liked the sound it made in the middle:smash:

Re: IBANEZ wiring help please!

That's the same wiring as my RG321mh.

I believe you should put the red and white together on the same point that you currently have the black and white. Put the black wire where your red one is now.

Good luck.
