Identify Humbuckers

Hi guys,

I've this couple of humbuckers from an '83 nj series mockingbird. I'm pretty Shure, aren't diMarzio.
I've tested all. These at neck it's 7.8K, and One at bridge it's 7.68K.
Which kind of humbuckers are? And of someone has info about this...
From the plate shape, maybe are from Maxon. Or maybe Gotoh, or other?

Thank you so much

Re: Identify Humbuckers

Looks like from about 1975 to the late 80s Dimarzio was building the pickups for BC Rich.

Re: Identify Humbuckers

B.C. Rich commonly used DiMarzio pickups in their USA guitars, but those are most certainly NOT DiMarzio.

The baseplates point to Asian manufacture, which would make sense for the "NJ" series.

Catalogs from that year simply say "pickups exclusively wound for the NJ series", which is marketing speak for "not DiMarzio like our other guitars" :)

Yeah, thank you Masta.
But...cause i think they're Dimarzio clones, about their medium inductance, 7.8K and 7.6K respectively neck and bridge, have you some info?

Re: Identify Humbuckers

I believe the pickups in the MIJ NJ Series BC Rich guitars are Gotoh, but I'm not 100% certain. They're usually PAF / SuperD clones, though these appear to be PAFs. The SuperD clones I've seen usually meter around 14K.

Re: Identify Humbuckers

Definitely PAF-esque in terms of DC resistance, but I bet they have ceramic mags and sound nothing like a PAF or a DiMarzio for that matter

You're unlikely to find any useful information about them from the internet, unfortunately
