If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Nobody would play classical? Classical guitar and Jazz guitar for me. But i might just quit without distortion

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

i've really grown alot into clean stuff. You really get a kick strumming big bassy chords, or at least i do. If you manhandle your axe on cleans, you can get a really nice bluesy snarl, very rewarding stuff. Just very smooth, pure and satisfying to play clean stuff well.

All i used to play was metal and rock, balls to the wall distortion. once i got my bandmaster i fell in love with cleans and can't go back!

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I'd get one of those sweet really fuzzy sounding synths, like Trent Reznor uses a lot.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

if distortion was banned, then there would be no metal, if there's no metal, there's a VERY narrow area of music i'd be listening to..

BUT, if i'd was given a choice, i'd be playing piano in a big ass classical orchestra

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

same thing i'd still be doing playing my acoustic guitar! Im not super into distrtion anyways

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I'd only keep my acoustic but also start saving up for a smaller Bösendorfer. ;)

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I'll push the gain up before the amp starts to break, then I'll take a LP and select the neck buker.

And play the blues...

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Ummm, I'd start playing some jazz and funk I suppose, I'd have to get a strat and a bigass hollow gibson though...

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

When I'm not playing rock, I'm playing blues......so I guess it'd just be blues all the time.....fine with me. With a bit of country, funk, and jazziness thrown in. Gain is nice, but I could live without it.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

blues or funk... or my 5-String Bass... it doesn't need distortion to sound like total destruction...

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Funk, without a doubt. Funk with wicka wocka guitars, slap bass, white man on drumkit, black man on timbales and cowbell. And not to forget the 5 singing black women and the 10 man brass ensemble!

:D

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

funk all the way. If i can't have the heavy groove, i'll have the light one instead.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Acoustic. My band is 50% acoustic, 50% electric, so it wouldn't be THAT devestating to me... mind you, jazz ain't for me. :s

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

NOT jazz. either the new clean rock stuff like the killers and franz ferdinand, or funk. i dont really use disortion that much.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

If distortion was somehow banned, I would play....
