If you had a million dollars....

Re: If you had a million dollars....

A CS Tele with double-bound body, a nice amp or two (65 maybe?), two or three more stomp boxes

and a couple of college educations for my kids.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I honestly CANNOT imagine spending that amount of cash on gear alone.
For argument's sake though:

- A Washburn Padauk N4
- A 1982 Kramer Pacer Carrera
- An ESP Kai Hansen Sig ('just cause he's one of the all-around greatest guys I know of)
- Have the best builder I could find (think Suhr+ or sth unless one Pete Crossley were to venture into the realm of the SuperStrats :naughty:) build me my dream guitar which basically is a combo of the ones I currently have, made of the finest woods obviously.
- Get me a kick@ss amp, sth to the effect of a Bad Cat or a Diezel but most probably custom build and fine tuned to my specific tastes.
- While I'm at it do the same for two-three effects (I know I know, I'm easy).

THEN, just for different flavors I'd get me
- A Washburn Idol NC 70 (the one with the EMGs in it which I'd then prolly change for Blackouts :9:) and
Either a Washburn Idol WI 568 or WI 590 or a Parker Fly Mojo Single Cutaway.

I HONESTLY can't think of anything else I'd want more...

Re: If you had a million dollars....

- 3 Custom Shop Teles - one more traditional 50s looking thing with a Charlie Christian neck pickup, one 60s Tele Custom with traditional pickups and one with 2 TV jones pickups - like those new Cabronita things they released this year.
- Martin 00018 1937 Authentic
- Fender Super Reverb clone, Fender Vibrolux Reverb clone, Fender Tweed Bassman clone - yeah I'd probably go nuts with the Fender amps hehe.
- Round off mah pedal collection and put em on a custom wired Trailer Trash board

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I could blow that pretty quick on a Neve console, a bunch of mics, outboard gear, tape machines (and tape) and a top-line protools system. And I'd still not have a room to set it up in.

So, I'd compromise by putting a 100k budget on recording gear.

I'd buy a bunch of non-guitar stuff: a nord stage, a rhodes, a wurlitzer, a nice hammond b3, a couple of nice old gretsch and ludwig drumkits (and an electronic kit for practice) and a few synths.

For bass stuff, I'd get a precision, a jazz, and a musicman, and get an older SVT and cab.

Guitar-wise, I'd go custom shop when I can and grab pretty much one of every classic guitar made: SGs, strats, teles, LPs, firebirds, ES models, jrs, specials, gretsches. I'd also grab oddball and specialty stuff like Danos, EKOs, coral sitars etc...

I'd pick up one of everything made by Metropoulos, Victoria, /13, headstrong, Swart and 65 amps, and supplement them with nice vintage pieces and oddities.

and a bunch of pedals.
