If you had your own signature guitar...

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Fender Stratocaster, (borring huh?) with a 70's maple neck with an Oxblood body (or Just a really deep dark brown) and a white pearloid pickguard. Vintage noiseless pickups with a little '59 in the bridge, coil tapped. I'd use Ernie Ball 9's.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

my "sig" would be so simple i doubt it would even count as a sig model. In fact im sure it exists somwhere already

Gibson SG in natural finish with vintage vibrola bridge. 496R bridge and 498T neck.

classic 4 knob setup and 3-way switch.

I'm a simple man

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I was wonderin who those people were

Ibanez RG something
one with a hardtail and H-H
one with a Floyd and H-S-H
JB/Jazz in both
the single would be some stacked noiseless hot vintagey thing
solid blue for the hardtail
transparent blue flame for the Floyd

ok maybe a red version

yea my current stable of guitars direct to the masses

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Probably Gibson or another company that makes an SG shape.

It would be black with a black pickguard.

60s slim taper or 50s rounded neck, not sure yet.

The config would be a single P90. 1 volume, 1 tone.

I would probably have 2,100 pickups made and test every one of them. :D

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Gibson flying V - tobacco burst with cream binding :)
for pick ups maybe a 59'n/bill lawerence xl-500 bridge if its gonna be my main guitar.
strings...maybe 9's i might go to 10's though.

OR

an explorer e2 :O with the 59'n/xl-500

3-Ernie Ball .11

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. Company would you choose
2. Pickups would you have
3. Strings and guage would you have
4. Finish options

i already had a custom gibson mapped out. it went something like this:

double cut les paul
large headstock with pearloid logo and custom emblem
medium sized 18:1 brushed nickel grovers
hand carved bone nut
MoP split block inlays on ebony board with binding
24 frets, medium-jumbo stainless steel
5 piece maple set neck with a long tenon
slightly figured top(very random bits of quilt and flame throughout)
korina body without chambering or weight relieving, but with a tummy cut
standard les paul controls(pickup switch on upper bout, dual volume/tone)
tone pros brushed nickel bridge and tailpiece
all cream plastic-ware including toggle switch "poker chip"
separate coil cuts and coil swap switches as push pulls
500k alpha push pulls for the volumes and neck tone, CTS 500k for bridge tone
natural center to medium green edge burst in a satin finish, natural back and stained neck.

it would come in three versions. one with pearly gates, one with an a5/a4n and a2/a8b phat cat set, and one with an a5/a4n phat cat and stock pearly gates bridge. obviously the ones with phat cats would have less alpha pots and more CTs pots. phat cats would have brushed covers, PGs would be zebra.

as far as finish options, i guess i'd offer it in a natural center/royal blue burst too:dunno:

i'd also have a matching BC rich USA custom mockingbird set to go with it, though a couple of the features would be different. like:
cloud inlays
extra deep high fret cutaway
matching slightly figured maple headstock face
mahogany/maple 5 piece neck-thru with 3 pieces of mahogany/2 maple
as far as finish options, only the top and headstock would reflect color changes; offered in natural, deep but faded green, and faded royal blue.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1) Gibson Flying V '67 RI worn satin white w/ black pickguard & ebony fret board
2) SD SH-6 in the bridge
3) Graphtech black tusq nut and resomax NV2 bridge w/ string saver saddles
4) Sperzel locking tuning machines
5) a CTS 500K pot for volume

My signature guitar would be almost like my current #1

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

:fest7:
5. a. Godin LG/ CT, MM Axis...
b. duncan jazz n/c-5 b
c. D'Addario .010
d. green AAA maple cap over mahog w. chrome hardware, mahog neck w. rosewood board, again my initials/ crest/ sign in mother of pearl for inlay

Get out of my head!!!! I made minor chnges , but same idea.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

It would be experimental probably a vaguely tele shape with active electronics and a Hannes bridge.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. It's a tough one,but I guess I'm more on Indonesian-made guitars (because I'm Indonesian,people!!). Probably I'd go with:
-Artrock Guitars (http://artrockguitars.com)
-Radix Guitars (http://www.radixguitars.com/)
-Stephallen Guitars (http://www.stephallen-guitars.com/);or
-One of the best custom guitar here by Asia Guitar Labs (http://asiaguitarlabs.wordpress.com/)
But if I forced to choose one of the big names,it will be ESP Japan because it seems they are willing to do any kind of weird specs to date. :D

2. Probably Seymour Duncan, either PATB series,Full Shred,Screamin' Demon,or Blackouts series,or even better: custom shop wound pickups by MJ or Seymour Duncan the man himself :D

3. I'm not picky with any brand of strings,as long as it isn't Ernie Ball. I don't know, their strings don't get along with me well. :(
As for the gauge,10-52 for mass production. I use 10-56 for my own set, though.
Tuned to D standard or drop C. :headbang:

4. Any solid color or natural/bursts fine with me. No weird flakes or metals here and there please. :D

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Gotta love "teh zombiez" threads....lol. I can't believe I wanted an H-S-H configured guitar :smack:

Ok... my updated signature guitar:

Manufacturer:
PRS. I have a funny feeling they'll always be my favorite guitar manufacturer.

Body:
new PRS designed shape based on the Gibson ES-335, so it'd be a double cut semi hollow with 2 f-holes. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides... just like the series 1 McCarty Hollowbodies.

Neck:
mahogany neck, brazilian rosewood fretboard; vintage wide/fat neck profile (they're just a tiny bit thicker than the more modern ones available today)

Finish:
Gibson's TV-white finish (the sexiest guitar finish ever)

Pickups:
Seymour Duncan SM-1B and SM-1N Firebird pickups; 1 volume, 1 tone knob

Hardware:
Kluson locking tuners, PRS standard chrome wraparound bridge, black speed knobs and 3 way switch

I have an NGD thread I'm going to be posting once I finish up some last minute details on it and it's loosely based off of this guitar's ideas.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

It would be a fully black superstrat probably made by RAN because they're cheaper. I'd want everyone to be capable to buy it.

It'd have black metallic finish, black floyd rose, 1 black volume knob, a black 3-way toggle switch, a black killswitch, two black humbuckers with black pole pieces, 6 black tuning machines, black strap locks, a black strap and a neck/headstock binding which would be.....white.

God, I remember saying these 4 years ago too. Well, some things never change...

The pickups would be Bare Knuckle or Seymour Duncan.
If BK: Miracle Man bridge, Cold Sweat neck.
If SD: Custom bridge, 59 neck.

12'' radius, 6000 fretwire
