If you had your own signature guitar...

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

:flush: Sorry. forgot to look at the date. I'm gonna go hide now.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I'd go with Hamer. Have them make me a replica of my '81 Special with the addition of a highly flamed maple top and using the Talladega's electronics.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Also w/Hamer...a Hamer goldtop, rosewood board, P90 neck, and a humbucker to be determined in the future for the bridge...

:laugh2:

LMFAO really? That's just hilarious to me. How come? I'm genuinely curious now.

To be fair, you wouldn't be the first. ;)

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Which:
1. Company would you choose

Jackson -Neck thru Superstrat. 24 Jumbo fretts & Ebony board. Some kind
of custom inlays.

2. Pickups would you have

Probably Duncan Blackouts or Distortion - Jazz

3. Strings and guage would you have

Either Elixir or D'Addario EXP 10-52

4. Finish options

Semi Gloss or Satin wood finish on both body and headstock. Lighter stain on
front and darker on the back and sides.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

The guitar will be a Les Paul Standard with
- 3 piece medium sized maple neck (with Volute).
- Honduran mahogany body
- Brazillian dark rosewood board
- Gotoh tuners
- cream pickguard, etc...

1. Company would you choose
- Unfortunately, it would have to be Gibson. But I am not opposed to offers from other makers, as long as the make the exact same guitar. Dean, Hamer, Tokai, Greco, etc...all options.

2. Pickups would you have
- Distortion bridge, and whatever Duncan model is closest to the T-Top in the neck. Typically, I'd say Jazz, but I really think this particular one would end up and A2P. I'd let Seymour decide while Evan wined/dined me to keep me from going to DiMarzio.
- Tobacco Model comes Dimarzio equipped 59/SuperDistortion

3. Strings and guage would you have
- GHS Boomers. 10's
- Tobacco version comes with same, tuned Eb.

4. Finish options
Plain top (3 piece) in Cherry Sunburst or Tobacco

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

having been playing covers for so long, i dont have a recognizable 'style' or 'signature sound' (unless barely skilled, sloppy counts)... i have played H-H, HSH, SSS, SS, etc guitars ... whatever fits the song best of the ones i own

i think i'd probably like something very close to my modded brian moore i88.13 ... i'd want the JB and A2P with the 5 way PRS type switching ... i'd want the piezo and the synth outputs too ... throw in the variax guts while we're at it ... fixed bridge string through ... and i'd want it painted bright white (matching headstock) with black pickups/rings, dome knobs, tips, etc ...

cept i'd want a neck carve like my EJ strat and stainless steel frets (medium jumbo) ... quartersawn maple with the deep relief for no string trees - vintage looking locking tuners ... i'd want a nice dark rosewood board (25.5" scale, very wide fingerboard) with the 'mi zai' inlay at the 12th fret in real colorful abalone or MOP with the matching t4d emblem on the headstock

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Zombie threads ftw :friday:

Anyway...I would have 2

For the first, I'd either go with Gibson, and if Gibson was being *****y about specs, I'd go to Heritage.

The guitar would be a exact '59 spec Les Paul, all Honduran mahogany, Brazillian RW neck, vintage correct inlays, (Gibson really ****s that one up on their reissues, and it bothers LP nuts like myself) the tuners would be gold grover rotomatics and the pickups would be Shed PAF Daddys

The second would be a Tele, made by Fender

Ash body, maple neck and fingerboard, 12 inch radius, 21 medium jumbo frets, it would have one volume, one tone and a 3 way switch like a Les Paul, the bridge pickup would be a Duncan CS '53 tapped JB and the neck pickup would be a PGn or a APHn (I haven't had a whole lot of time to experiment with neck HBs in Teles, I'd have to try a few out)

Then I would be set...

LOLsome. :D Well at least you're honest, which is what I appreciate about ya.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

EBMM based on the Rosewood Axis Super Sport
Probably some along the line of the '78s MJ wound for my Driskill
9.5-44 strings -- but EB doesn't do 9.5 sets :(
Purple, green, or some other candy color

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

^specs? does it include the cheesy outfit?

Specs: Whatever I wished for.
By now, it would be a '59/Screamin' Demon combo, locking tuners, tusq nut, big frets, pleeeenty of push-pulls, the usual stuff. All mahogany.
And a big fat neck, too. But who knows tomorrow.

Outfit: I hope not! :eyecrazy:

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Carvin Ultra V

2002 slim-D neck profile
FT6 bridge
pearl blue
90-92 black pointy headstock
Carvin C22T and C22N pups
coil spliters

and of course lefty! lol

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

This may sound uninspired/lame, but mine (that I would want now) is pretty much the signature guitar of DragonForce's Sam Totman (don't hate), but improved slightly.

Ibanez Iceman
Mahogony body with 5 pc. Maple/Walnut Wizard Through-Neck
Ebony fretboard, reverse headstock
Black Dimarzio Evolution pickups
Edge Pro trem and other hardware in Cosmo Black
Gloss White with black binding

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I would not have a signature guitar. I am far too capricious (and greedy) to confine myself to a single design.
