If you had your own signature guitar...

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. Fender - Stratocaster hard tail
2. Duncan hot rails with a 3-way switch
3. D'Addario - your choice of 9's or 10's
4. Dodge Viper Red finish with periold pickguard

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

It would be PRS designed

Swamp Ash body - Orange on heavily grained body - (layer of darker orange on grain, lighter on the outer to give illusion of a flame), sterling silver racing stripe down center of guitar

Pickups - HSH format - C5 - SSL2 - 59 (I'm still trying to figure out theoretically what would be the best to nail great LP type tones and when split, great strat tones) - coil split on tone would effect the two humbuckers at the same time

Parts/Hardware - bone nut, one volume, one tone, three way switch, wilkinson trem, sperzel locking tuners, two way toggle switch for piezo option

Neck - Vintage maple with abalone bird inlays, profile would be like the Fender Lite Ash Teles (my ideal sized neck, kinda chunky)

If I had a guitar like that with an automatic tuning system like the Transperformance, I would be in heaven and never need another guitar...EVER :D (I'd have great acoustic, strat to LP type tones all rolled into one guitar that will look perfect to me and play perfect ;) )

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

- Epiphone Riviera
- Alnico pro II cover pickups
- Dean Markley 0.11-0.52
- The finnish should be something fancy like blue or green.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

mine would be from www.neubauerguitars.com:
- Double Cutaway body like PRS with mahagony and flamed maple top
- HSH with Custom5, Vintage flat and Pearly Gates
- Fixed bridge with Piezo
- bolt on neck
...

or a cutom Gretsch ;-)

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. G&L or Fender. G&L would make a Strat-style, and Fender would make a Toronado-style.

2. C5/PG or JB/PG

3. Dean Markley Mediums

4. The G&L would be mahogany with an ebony fretboard, reverse headstock, clear forest green, no pickguard, black controls, black locking tuners, black recessed Floyd Rose.

The Fender would be mahogany with an ebony fretboard, the whole body would look like a black perloid pickguard, candy apple red pickguard, chrome controls, chrome locking tuners, chrome hardtail.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I already have my sig guitar :D A luthier I know in Colorado built it for me. It's a Tele shape, but with Strat belly and forearm contours, and a unique contour on the top near teh strap button that kind of mimics the lower forearm contour. Looks dead sexy! The body is a light, one-piece swamp ash. The whole guitar only weighs about 6 pounds.

Pickups are Rio Grande Tallboy neck and Muy Grande bridge.

Strings are D'Adarrio 11-49.

Finish a gorgeous tobacco sunburst.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Amfisound
Jackson Rhoads shape with an even more massive fret access cutaway than the "silverized routa" they did. Huge belly cutaway(not that I'm fat NOW).
Wenge through neck with quartersawn wenge wings.
24 fret Ziricote fingerboard with subdued celtic inlays made from the stoniest looking abalone available.
I want the double locking trem, a Kahler Killer or Steeler, to be recessed like the floyd rose arrow guitar with Celtic carvings underneath running back to the crotch
Black hardware
SD Blackouts hum in the bridge, single kissing the fingerboard.

And my case will be made out of a shark with a laser beam on it's head.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Hey Alvin Lee, was that guy by any chance Philip Bruce Clay who used to own Rarebird Guitars?

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I never would have thought it before, because I'd never met the guitar in my signature, the Gibson SG Diablo 2008 Guitar of the Month.

It's honestly my favorite guitar I've ever owned, out of 120 or so.

I'd go so far as to say that Gibson should add it to their regular SG line, as the modern SG, not that stupid Robot guitar.

If Gibson did this Diablo in every good color, kept it's Burstbucker 2 in the bridge, and 1 in the neck....an incredible pickup set for this guitar, they'd have a serious winner. It's got the best 50's neck I've ever played.

If this were my Signature Guitar, it'd be the same thing with gold covered Brobucker/PGn, and the amber switch tip I added.

I love this guitar so much. Add it to a strat, and that's my new Gibson/Fender duo.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I'll play along though. :D

1. Company would you choose

Stinnett or Music Man; SS (Stinnett) or Silhouette special shape. Mahogany or basswood body, carved flame maple top. Maple bolt-on neck, ebony fretboard. Recessed TOM bridge with a string-thru body. HH pickups with a 5-way blade switch and one tone knob. No inlay, Sperzel locking tuners.

2. Pickups would you have

Depends on the wood I'd be using. I'd love to use the EBMM Axis pickups but those are very hard to get a hold of. If I was a Duncan set I'd use a Customized JB wind for the bridge... not sure on the neck.

3. Strings and gauge would you have

D'addario .010-.052

4. Finish options

(assuming we're using a flame maple top) Natural, Purple burst, Red Burst, Green Burst, and a Blue-Green burst or a Blue-Purple burst.
