If YOU don't flame me (YES Stevie Bees, I'm talking to you!!) then Jane (my better half) may just kill me!
Before I tell you about the cab let me just defend myself (sorry if this bores the crap out of you!). I have 2 sons, a 19year old and a 15year old, they both have guitars and play a bit but both are studying so I don't moan about lack of noise coming from their bedrooms. I decided a long time ago that if ever they showed a keen interest in playing I would ensure that they had some cool, quality stuff that will not only look and sound great, but will be somekind of investment for them in the future. So they both have some cool guitars, my eldest has the Sg3000s I got him many years ago and a nice Korean Ibanez SA???? that is loaded with a Crazy8/duckbucker/'lil 59n. My youngest has a Gibson Explorer studio in metallic blue and chrome. He doesn't know it but my own SG3000 will be his so they both have one. They will both have a nice LP each, and one will get the SuperTele and the other my G&L Legacy. So guitars are sorted. Amps haven't been sorted yet but cabs have. A few months ago I got a Marshall Handwired '60's R.I which is nice, not mint, but 9/10. So a few weeks ago I got the beat up Marshall CheckerGrille that is a decent enough cab but I wished it was in better condition so they both had a nice, classic cab. well today I am happy, I went on a 360 mile round trip to Exeter and fetched an empty '71/ '72 checkergrille, Bass model in superb condition for a 39/ 40 year old cab. It id covered in virtually unmarked levant, has riveted plastic handles, the "BASS" logo that was in the top left corner is missing but you can see the wooden plate from the inside. Grille cloth is great, aged but very clean and tidy, the 2 front bottom corner pieces are missing and there are a couple a nicks in the tolex..... but it's so cool. Here's a couple of pics (from the seller) as I haven't had time to take any yet. So without further ado, here it is.....
