Before I got sick I had a lot of amps and guitars. I sold everything that I don't play regularly. But I still have my blackface Fenders (Deluxe Reverb, Princeton Reverb and Vibrolux Reverb) and three of my tweed Fenders (Princeton, Deluxe and Super).

I'm going to trade my last tweed Deluxe for this guitar today:

It's a 2001. Plays like a dream and it's 100% stock. 57 Classic pickups that Tom Holmes designed for Gibson. I already have the guitar on approval. My buddy has my amp on approval. We spoke about it and we both approve! So it's a done deal.

IMO, it looks worth it. :approve:

It is. I've wanted a really nice flame maple ES-335 with a natural finish forever - 30 or 40 years! I've passed on a couple that looked great but which I didn't bond with.

This one I did bond with. It's very similar to my red 2000 ES-335. Same neck. Same great resonance.

I think both are real special guitars and it's cool having two from consecutive years: 2000 and 2001.

Thanks! I have not had any negative experiences with newer Gibson guitars - those made within the last 15 years. Except for one historic '59 Les Paul, all have been ES-335 guitars. I had to sell this 1996 ES-335 to make ends meet last year when I got sick and my insurance company started jerking me around. It was a beauty too. I guess trading my Deluxe for the '01 natural flame top kinda replaces this sunburst ES-335 that I didn't want to part with:

That's it. I'm coming to Boulder just to play that beauty.

Anytime my man! Did the K&K pickups arrive yet? Can't wait to hear how you like 'em.

No, not yet. But mail doesn't show up until about 2-3. Shipping companies (UPS, Fed Ex) don't usually come around until about 5. I'm excited though! I feel like I'm a kid at my first school dance or something. Must be all the coffee.

Yes, although all 335's are laminate construction with a maple cap or veneer.

They both are.

I need to name these two!

The blonde one reminds me of Marilyn.

Now who's a hot red head?

Cassandra here might be my favorite.

How about pictures of the 5e3?

Also, Elvira is hot. She's a little earlier than my generation, but I remember seeing her on TV.
