Checking my phone for anything resembling an update or a shipping status.

It's going to be a long few days.

What's the hardest time you've ever had waiting for something?

Re: I'm waiting.

I had a late girlfriend once. That's not a pleasant wait.

Re: I'm waiting.

Ace's supposedly epic guitar acquisition reveal. Took ages...

Re: I'm waiting.

Been navigating some rough seas on getting this thing to me. Looks like I might get a break in the weather. It's a small effects-related device. How hard could it be? Well...

If I had this thing here right now, I'd put it on a table and just look at it. I'd be beside myself with happiness.

Re: I'm waiting.

Two toughest for me...

-XSSIVE Clone #003; sent by Motorcop71, he paid a bunch for packing and shipping... I saw status change from "Out for Delivery" to "Delivery Exception" to "Returning to Seller". (!) I rushed to the post office to see if I could intercept it. Thankfully the guy that served me at the counter happened to be a guitarist too so he jumped through hoops to find it on the truck and retrieve it. Nothing was wrong with the address, I think the post lady was sick of delivering heavy stuff so she tapped out on this one.

-Prophecy Sound InfinitPhase mk II; I (perhaps foolishly) paid a pretty large deposit on this in ~May, after a flurry of information and decisions, it was kind of radio silence for several months with no updates. Then out of nowhere it showed up in December. Wild pedal with exteremely limited production, but I was a little worried there for a moment....

Re: I'm waiting.

That beats anything I've gone through, I think. My major gripe right now is the "free shipping" from a well-known internet shopping site. There is that Tal Farlow CD that's coming from Japan in June (I hope).

Aside from that, not too bad. I'm waiting for what I've come to regard as the pedal.

Post a pic of YOU waiting anxiously with phone in hand. How androgynous could it be? :D

Re: I'm waiting.

Biopsy results.

Guitar-wise...the Custom Shop Martin D-35 I ordered sight-unseen from GC a couple of years ago. A large chunk of change...but it ended well. Superb guitar.

And most fortunately, so did the biopsy. Whew!

Re: I'm waiting.

What really kills me is when I have all the main parts but realize I need something small like a shim or something that I could have included on another recent parts order.
It really burns me to have to pay shipping on something dirt cheap when it could have been included without extra charge.

I've actually started keeping a list now on paper to help prevent this gross frustration. lol

Who wants to see another doughy forty-year-old white guy? Besides, you already know my deal.

Has anyone figured out what Stock Picture Girl and I are waiting for?

Re: I'm waiting.

It has cleans as clear as glass, yet it has enough gain to convert AC into DC for just about any situation.

Re: I'm waiting.

New drivers for my 80's USSR made Radiotekhnikas. Best "bang for the buck" speakers of their time :D

Originals were quite busted, and I wanted to keep them in stock condition. Found out the company and factory still exists and builds home audio in Lithuania. And they even had one vendor here in Finland: Some small shop, that probably had been shipping them in Finland for decades.

So I called them and they said they can order direct replacements from the factory. I got really excited about it. They even were really cheap. They did said it may take a while, as they'll get them with their next shipment.

After two months of waiting I called them and they said they're waiting the shipment.

5 months, and they're still waiting the shipment.

About 10 months later, I had forgotten the whole thing, thinking I'm not getting them: They called from then shop that my new drivers were there. Got them by mail few days later. :)

They were definitely worth the wait. Considering the price, I don't think I could have gotten better, even with a budget double what I paid for them.

Re: I'm waiting.

I always feel at least slightly on edge when I'm expecting inbound material. I feel like there's part of my stuff out there, and I won't feel whole again until it makes it in. I don't know what I'd do if it were months and months.

I'm quite relaxed about that. At least if there's not too big sums of money involved. But paying upfront is something I tend to be very cautious (and nervous) of.
