In-detail review of the Screamin' Demon.

Re: In-detail review of the Screamin' Demon.

Thanks for a great review Diego. This pup has intrigued me for a while.

Yeah maybe that can happen, so the demon was really that bad? what rig did you try it through?

Original POD the first time, Vox Tonelab ST the second time.

Granted, every other pickup sounded decent through those two setups, I can usually get a good sound out of about anything.

George Lynch's signature Peavey XXX amp was a WAY over the top amp. It's entirely possible that if you've got enough gain, you could make it work.

I've got more options on tap now that I've gone completely computer-based. (Including the Peavey XXX amp in Revalver. Maybe I just need a low enough output pickup for it. :D ) Just not sure I'd want to try it a third time.

I hear ya but that in that vid GL is using a marshall plexi with boss SD-1 and it has enough gain for me, I dont like too much gain so maybe i will like the demon. I am going to install it in another 30 mins or so i will find out.

Re: In-detail review of the Screamin' Demon.

You know, I was just about to write a thread called "tell me about the Screamin' Demon" haha. I keep thinking about trying one in my Lester, and I saw one thread on a Demon8, but I want the chrome/nickel covers. Since it has the two rows of screws, I'm not sure how I would make that work.

Well, with a traditional chrome cover, you'd just be covering one row of poles (the hex poles in this case), much like you would with any other humbucker...

Re: In-detail review of the Screamin' Demon.

I had my doubts about the screamin demon but I got it anyways. I read he used it on the 2nd lynch mob album which is my favorite lynch tone album. Now im thinking about getting another one it has a perfect balance. I was tired of the high output pickups mainly the JB. Here is a video of myself playing some Lynch with a TB screamin demon in my Kramer 84.
